Gina Carano Responds To Rousey’s Comments About Potential Fight: “It could happen”

UFC Hall of Fame member Ronda Rousey recently made some remarks on the one match she would return for.

During a recent appearance on The Kurt Angle Show, Rousey was questioned about the potential of returning to mixed martial arts. Gina Carano’s name came up. She said that she would only face one opponent again, naming Carano in particular.

Rousey also stressed that she has no animosity against Carano. Rousey appreciates her for opening doors for women’s MMA.

Rousey is presently serving as the Smackdown women’s champion while working for the WWE for a second time.

Cris Cyborg defeated Carano in the opening round of their fight for the first Strikeforce women’s featherweight championship. Before then, Carano had defeated opponents like Tonya Evinger and Kaitlin Young seven times in a row.

Carano recently appeared on Unfiltered with Dan Bongino. During the interview, she didn’t completely rule out the prospect of fighting Rousey again.

Carano said:

“You know what? Just never put it past me. It could happen.”

“It would be six months from now because I have a lot of stuff I need to do …. I really want to create, I want to direct, I want to produce… I want to give Ronda Rousey a job in one of my movies so maybe there is something we can do there.”

After losing to Cyborg, Carano changed to a career in the show industry. She has had notable appearances in famous television programs including The Mandalorian on Disney+. Most recently, she co-starred with Donald Cerrone in the film Terror on the Prairie.

After a 13-year absence, Carano is unlikely to compete in mixed martial arts at the age of 40. However, if given the opportunity to fight Rousey, she may make a comeback.
