Francis Ngannou could face Derek Chisora in Saudi Arabia in December

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted at a potential showdown between Francis Ngannou and Derek Chisora. This thrilling clash could take place on the same card as the highly anticipated matches between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, as well as Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

If the rumors are true, this event in Saudi Arabia could go down in history as one of the most remarkable moments in heavyweight boxing.

According to Eddie Hearn, there are reports that a crossover match is in the works and may wind up on the undercard of one of the greatest heavyweight boxing spectacles in history.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Hearn stated: “There are rumours for a third fight for that night in December which could be Ngannou against Chisora.”

Eddie Hearn recently shared his insights on the potential bout, expressing his enthusiasm for the matchup. While he believes that Francis Ngannou may struggle against formidable opponents like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, he sees him as a more competitive force when pitted against Derek Chisora.

Hearn stated: “I actually quite like that fight because I don’t see Francis being competitive against Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua, but more competitive against Chisora.”

Francis Ngannou has been eager to step into the squared circle against boxing’s biggest names, including Fury, Joshua, and Wilder. But despite the interest shown by these boxers in facing the former UFC heavyweight champion, their primary focus remains on competing with each other at the moment.

The highly anticipated showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is nearing its finalization for a December date. Eddie Hearn recently announced that they are currently in talks to ‘close the deal’ and expect to finalize the details during their upcoming meetings in London next week.

Saudi Arabian promotional outfit Skills Challenge Promotions remains confident in bringing the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury bout to fruition on the same card. With ongoing efforts, the organizers are determined to make this monumental clash a reality.

The potential matchup between Francis Ngannou and Derek Chisora appears to be the third significant bout targeted for this historic event. Chisora last competed in December and suffered a decisive defeat against Fury.

On the other hand, Ngannou has been out of action since successfully defending his UFC heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in January. Recently, he vacated the belt and parted ways with the company. Ngannou then went on to join PFL, UFC’s rival promotion.

While negotiations are ongoing and details are being finalized, fans eagerly await this historic event that promises to deliver unparalleled excitement and drama in the world of heavyweight boxing.
