Former UFC star Darren Till slammed by fans for chasing boxing bout with Logan Paul

MMA  veteran Darren Till is currently being ridiculed by fans on social media following his recent statement about his interest in boxing. The 30-year-old requested to be released from the UFC earlier this year to pursue other opportunities, which the company granted.

Soon after leaving the UFC, Till announced his intention to compete in boxing.

Darren Till suffered a serious setback once his ACL ruptured a while back. He’s been reluctant to get the surgery and has even gone ahead and asked for a UFC release so that he could seek a different kind of a solution to his medical problems.

ACL problems are nothing new in MMA and typically require about a year to recover from.

In his latest announcement, Till expressed his desire to take on popular boxers Tommy Fury or Logan Paul. However, this comment sparked criticism on Twitter and other social media platforms.

Till said of Paul. “The guy, he’s a boxer whatever, I do feel I would just run over him. We’ll see. Maybe it will happen at some point in the future.”

“If I’m going to come into boxing, I am going to be running over these guys. Running over them.”

Fans expressed their disappointment in Till’s decision to pursue boxing and called him out for his poor performance in recent MMA bouts. Some comments implied that Till was seeking quick money and did not care about his legacy or greatness.

Despite the backlash from MMA fans, Till remains optimistic and focused on his passion for striking. He stated that he is confident he’ll win against whoever and plans to make a big announcement in the coming weeks.

Till has an overall record of 18-5-1 since his professional MMA debut in 2013, with a UFC record of 6-5-1. His last bout in December 2022 ended in a third-round submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis, and he only has one win in his previous four.

It remains to be seen whether Till will find success in his new venture into boxing or if he will return to the octagon.
