Fedor Emelianenko’s brother released from prison, targeting Combat sports return

The younger brother of mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko has walked free after serving his sentence, expressing optimism about his future and a possible return to professional competition.

Ivan Emelianenko emerged from the correctional facility with what he described as positive emotions, telling reporters: “Only with the kindest, brightest feelings.”

Throughout his incarceration, Ivan maintained contact with his family members, who provided unwavering support during his time away. “I maintain relationships with all relatives, everyone supported me, everyone worried,” he said upon his release.

Despite the challenging circumstances of prison life, Emelianenko managed to stay physically active during his sentence. When asked about maintaining his conditioning, he acknowledged the limitations but emphasized his dedication. “Yes, in the colony there is a sports ground, I went every day and trained,” he explained. “Not the way I would have liked, of course, but I’m maintaining my form more or less.”

The question on many fans’ minds is whether the fighter will make a comeback to the ring. Emelianenko appears ready to explore that possibility, stating his intention to reach out to industry professionals about a potential return. “Regarding returning to the ring, I think, yes, if I am interesting, I need to call promoters and captains. I think I will return to the ring,” he said.

The Emelianenko name carries significant weight in the world of mixed martial arts, largely due to the achievements of his older brother Fedor, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight fighters in the sport’s history.
