King Azoulay, the social media personality known for his alpha male content, posted what he described as serious training camp footage ahead of his scheduled bout with Gypsy Crusader.
The centerpiece of the video was a sparring session with a formidable former professional figh ter. That figh ter has since been identified as Jared Papazian, a 38-year-old veteran with a professional MMA record of 20-14-0 who appeared on TUF and competed in the UFC approximately 14 years ago.
Before the cameras rolled on the sparring session, Azoulay spent considerable time establishing Jared’s credentials for his audience.
“He was in the UFC and was a UFC figh ter, had multiple matches. I believe he was also in K1 or King of the Cage, one of those two or maybe both of them. He’s a great athlete. No one to take lightly. I knew him personally. I used to go with him to the same gym,” Azoulay said.
The two men had a history between them, and not a friendly one. According to Azoulay, Jared had contacted his girlfriend to voice his low opinion of him, which caused a falling out.
Eventually, Jared reached out through Azoulay’s assistants, offering an apology and requesting a sparring session. “One thing that I know is that if a man apologizes, I will accept it,” Azoulay said.
The footage, however, told a different story. Commentator Bubba, who covers Azoulay’s antics on his Alpha Male Universe channel, was blunt about what he witnessed.
“It looked like Azoulay didn’t know how to throw a punch. He honestly looked lost in the sauce with those gloves, like it was the first time he’s ever put them on. This is definitely damaging to his reputation,” he said in a recent video.
Even more telling was what Jared himself said after the session. Rather than presenting himself as a dangerous opponent who had come prepared, he openly admitted, “I’ve been on the couch. I drank last night. I don’t feel anything anymore. I don’t fig ht.”
Despite going against a clearly under-prepared opponent who had not been training, Azoulay was visibly winded by the end of the exchange. Bubba noted plainly, “If that’s what he’s going to bring to the whole Gypsy Crusader fig ht, his a*s is grass.”
Papazian’s career record confirms he is a genuine professional, but at 38 years old, coming off two consecutive losses and years away from active competition, the version of Jared who showed up that day was far from the dangerous adversary Azoulay had advertised.
Rather than bolstering his credibility ahead of August 29th, the footage left many questioning whether Azoulay has any legitimate combat ability at all.
