Drake wins $1.38M from betting on Davis to beat Garcia

Canadian rapper, Drake, is celebrating after earning over $1.3 million on a bet he placed on the Gervonta Davis versus Ryan Garcia boxing bout.

Davis secured a win by technical knockout in the seventh round after delivering a heavy body shot to his opponent.

The highly anticipated catchweight bout was held in Las Vegas, and Drake correctly predicted Davis’ victory, wagering $1 million on the outcome.

Drake took to Instagram to share the good news with his fans, posting a picture of his bet slip and writing, “Tank day aka pay day.” His accurate prediction earned him $1.38 million, which was a considerable boost to his income. However, Drake’s three smaller missed bets took a dent out of his winnings.

Apart from betting on Davis’ victory, Drake also placed three separate bets, each worth $15,000, on the exact rounds that Davis would win in. Unfortunately, these predictions did not pan out, and Drake lost a total of $45,000 on those bets. However, his accurate prediction on the overall outcome of the bout more than made up for those losses, bringing his total winnings to $1,335,000.

The bout was highly anticipated, with many speculating on the outcome. Garcia appeared to have control of the bout in the second round, but Davis turned the tide with a left to the chin that sent Garcia to the mat. From then on, Davis dominated much of the next five rounds before ending the bout in the seventh with a shot to Garcia’s liver. The force of the blow was so severe that Garcia took a knee and failed to get up, giving Davis a technical knockout victory.
