Drake bets $545,000 on Alexander Volkanovski beating Diego Lopes

Music superstar Drake has placed a staggering $545,000 bet on Alexander Volkanovski to defeat Diego Lopes in their upcoming UFC clash.

The high-stakes wager comes as former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway shared his own analysis of the matchup. Holloway, who has faced Volkanovski in the octagon three times, believes “The Great” has what it takes to emerge victorious.

“If Alex be the winner, I think he goes to vintage Alex: stick-and-move, pop-shot, leg kicks, maybe grapple against the fence, some dirty boxing against the fence – he ekes out a decision, maybe a unanimous decision,” Holloway explained on his channel.

However, Holloway acknowledges the danger Lopes presents, particularly in the early rounds of the contest.

“If Diego wins, it’s within the first three rounds,” Holloway said. “I think Diego catches him. Diego comes at you like 100 miles per hour, bro. He comes at you, and he’s like a crazy train flying off the tracks, bro. He comes right at you, punching at you. I think the most dangerous part for this fight is definitely the first two rounds for Volk, maybe three.”

Despite recognizing Lopes’ explosive potential, Holloway ultimately sided with the former champion to reclaim his glory.

“At the end of the day, I think Volk recaptures,” Holloway concluded. “But I can see Diego capturing it and catching Volk, but it’s MMA. We’ll see what happens.”

With Drake’s substantial financial backing now adding another layer of intrigue to the bout, all eyes will be on Volkanovski as he attempts to justify the music icon’s confidence and validate Holloway’s prediction when he steps into the cage against the dangerous Lopes.
