Deontay Wilder Protests Skepticism About His Tyson Fury Story: “Why’s It So Hard To Believe A Black Man? Why Is It? You Got White Privilege”

Deontay Wilder’s emotions reached boiling point during a recent talkSPORT Boxing interview when hosts Simon Jordan and Spencer Oliver questioned his allegations against Tyson Fury.

The conversation took a sharp turn when Jordan challenged Wilder’s repeated accusations that Fury had done foul play during their encounters. “You saying that someone like Fury ch eated you in those bouts, I think is kind of disappointing to me,” Jordan stated.

Wilder’s response was immediate and emphatic: “I know the truth. I have the facts. I got the proof. I got the people to tell it.”

The Alabama native grew increasingly frustrated as Jordan pressed him on various explanations Wilder had offered for his losses, including allegations about spiked water and issues with his training team.

What began as skepticism about Wilder’s claims evolved into a confrontation when the former WBC champion challenged the nature of the questioning itself. “Why is it so hard to believe a black man?” Wilder asked pointedly. “Why is it? This whole world got something to do with race.”

When Jordan attempted to redirect the conversation, suggesting race wasn’t a factor in his questioning, Wilder became more frustrated.

“You got white privilege, brother. I ain’t never had that. I’m a black man with dark skin. Ain’t nothing ever been given to me. I had to kick in every opportunity,” he stated.

The Bronze Bomber continued his impassioned response: “Your view as a little boy is totally different than my view as a little boy. Most black people why we so into it with each other because we have PTSD. We done been through so much.”

Wilder expressed frustration that Jordan didn’t understand his perspective: “You don’t get it. None of y’all get it. Where do you want me to go? Y’all don’t get it. And that’s the problem. You think you get what you don’t understand.”

After Jordan attempted to steer the discussion back to Wilder’s upcoming match with Derek Chisora, the former champion had reached his limit.

He stated, “It’s hard when y’all don’t understand. I got another situation. I said I didn’t want to talk about that situation. Now you got me riled up.”

Before departing the interview, Wilder issued a direct challenge regarding his Fury allegations: “Tell him to sue me so I can show the facts early because when the documentary and everything the story come out, I’m going to show every. I’m going get all the people that know all the people that’s in the inside.”

Despite the hosts’ attempts to refocus on his April 4th clash with Chisora at the O2 Arena, Wilder remained visibly upset about the line of questioning.

Spencer Oliver later revealed that Wilder’s frustration continued even after the cameras stopped rolling, noting the boxer “was getting even worse” when Oliver went to see him afterward.
