Dana White open to Volkanovski Makhachev rematch under one condition

There’s been a tremendous amount of controversy following UFC 284. The anticipated battle between Volkanovski and Makhachev ended with the 5 round decision going in Makhachev’s favor.

But despite the decision win, Volkanovski maintained P2P champion ranking prompting Makhachev to call out anti-Russian bias and compare his situation with those of Petr Yan and Magomed Ankalaev.

Volkanovski camp didn’t stay silent either, Dan Hooker came out with IV use accusations shortly after UFC 284. Now Volkanovski’s coach Joe Lopez gave an interview claiming that there are hard evidence that Makhachev team ordered an IV ahead of the contest.

During the presser after UFC Vegas 70 he was asked about chances of making the rematch happen, White told media:

“You know what my thoughts are on that? When you make a super fight, could you possibly have a better f***ing result than we did on that fight, right? When the entire world is arguing over who won, that’s a super fight.”

“And it delivers, right? The only thing that could possibly be better than that is the guy who’s fighting for the interim title comes out looking incredible too. So, now you got your, your versus Volkanovski, right? We’ll see what happens with Islam and where he ends up fighting next.
You have to do your, you have to do that fight. I mean, the guy came out and absolutely dominated a stud that night.”

“And, and then you have the rematch after they both fight again. You could not have a better result.”
