UFC CEO Dana White has revealed his picks for the most formidable competitors currently in the organization during a recent appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
When asked about who stands out as the most imposing presence in the UFC, White first highlighted Jon Jones, stating: “Jon Jones is the best ever, the best of all time, but we have tonnes of guys that are [dangerous].”
Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion, has cemented his legacy with numerous records, including the most title defenses, most wins, and longest win streak in the light heavyweight division.
White then turned his attention to Islam Makhachev, saying: “Islam [Makhachev], who is now the number one pound-for-pound in the world.” The current lightweight champion Makhachev has recently been rumored to be considering a move up in weight class as he pursues a second world title.
The UFC boss also praised Ilia Topuria, declaring him “one of the best of all time.” Topuria, who holds the featherweight championship, made history as the first Georgian to claim a UFC title and currently ranks fourth in the pound-for-pound rankings.
Completing his list, White added: “Max Holloway is still one of the nastiest guys on the planet.” The former featherweight champion Holloway’s impressive resume includes a two-year championship reign and a division record of 13 consecutive victories.
Some fans expressed surprise at certain omissions from White’s list. One fan commented on X: “Surprised he didn’t mention Alex Pereira in that group. That’s the only one I’d add to the most dangerous guys in the UFC right now.” Others advocated for Tom Aspinall’s inclusion, feeling the British heavyweight was overlooked.
These selections by White showcase the remarkable depth of talent currently competing in the UFC, with each fighter bringing their own unique set of skills to the octagon.
