Dana White had a funny reaction to Deiveson Figueiredo being Upset With UFC

Deiveson Figueiredo has spent the better part of the last couple of years fighting Brendon Moreno. The two have exchanged the title between themselves several times.

But even though the last bout ended indecisively – Figueiredo wants to move on from the matchup. This decision wasn’t welcomed by the UFC.

Deiveson Figueiredo isn’t happy about the upcoming interim flyweight title fight. The two-time UFC flyweight champion claimed that he had sent UFC the proof that he was recovering from an injury.

Deiveson Figueiredo snatched back his flyweight title against his rival Brendan Moreno at UFC 270 back in January. With that victory, the Brazilian athlete has clashed three times with Moreno with the score being 1-1-1.

As a result the UFC paired Moreno with number two contender Kai Kara France instead. Moreno and France are set to have an interim title fight at UFC 277 in July.

This decision made Figueiredo quite upset. During an interview with MMA Fighting, the 34-year-old claimed the UFC doesn’t believe that he was actually unable to fight.

“I’m very upset, and I’ll send the UFC all the exams I have that prove my injury, because I’ve heard that they haven’t received these documents. Of course that’s what happened, man. I think there was some miscommunication, the UFC was supposed to get these documents that prove my injury, but, from what I’ve heard, the UFC hasn’t received it. They could’ve reached out to me to know if I was ok instead of booking a fight for an interim belt.” Figueiredo said.

“That was bullshit. I’ve saved a main event in the UFC, doing the quickest turnaround in the history of the UFC as a champion, and now I’m getting ripped off. The belt is mine. There’s no other belt, except for this plastic belt, this joke they’re doing between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France.” Figueiredo said.

White recently went on a podcast and got asked about Figueiredo’s recent statements including the threat to move up a division.
