Dana White gifts UFC champion a pricey Lamborghini just weeks after Twitter feud

UFC President Dana White recently surprised UFC star Aljamain Sterling with an extravagant gift of a Lamborghini valued at over $400,000. This generous gesture comes shortly after a heated dispute between the two.

Recently, Francis Ngannou parted ways with the UFC due to a disagreement over pay. And now White found himself caught in another confrontation. This time it is with his bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling.

Sterling successfully defended his title against Henry Cejudo at UFC 288 last month, winning by split decision. However, the aftermath of the match brought tension between the two parties.

Following Sterling’s victory, White announced that the champion would face Sean O’Malley next at UFC 292. In response, Sterling expressed concerns about his body not fully recovering in time for the August 19 clash.

These remarks did not sit well with the influential MMA promoter. He suggested that Sterling had initially attempted to postpone the clash. White stated that Sterling was “one of those guys who can’t get out of his way.”

White firmly expressed his opinion, saying: “If you’re not healthy, don’t take the fight. We’ll have somebody else fight, we’ll do somebody else for the interim title. Don’t say you’re going to go out and fight and then start saying stuff like if my body holds up.”

Sterling retaliated, accusing White of discrediting him and tarnishing his reputation. He asserted, “When I say I’m going to show up, I f***ing show up and I fight.”

In a tweet, Sterling further addressed the issue and stated:

However, it appears that the tension between Sterling and White has subsided since White surprised the 33-year-old with a green-colored Lamborghini Huracan sports car.

Sterling confirmed that his grievances with the UFC president have now been resolved. During an interview with The Schmo, he expressed his satisfaction by saying: “Dana finally got me that Lambo I’ve been asking for. He’s a man of his word. I mean it’s a pretty damn nice car, I’ll tell you that. It’s a very nice car.”

When asked if this signifies a mended relationship and friendship with White, Sterling replied, “I think so. He knows the money fight, he knows the real main event. I main evented the last one and he knows who to call when he needs another main event.”
