UFC president Dana White recently got upset over a comment involving UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. The Last Stylebender was recently announced to headline UFC 271 with title contender Robert Whittaker. However Adesanya responded to the news in a manner that Dana White deems inappropriate.
Adesanya simply responded to that news having written a cap emoji. “Cap” translates to “lie” according to the urban dictionary.
The not-so-serious response clearly outraged Dana White and prompted him to launch an expletive filled rant.
“Why would we lie? When have we ever f***ing lied? This fight’s coming up … we lied about it? Twenty f***ing years, have we ever lied about making a fight?” White told Fox Sports.
The 52-year-old also stated that he and the UFC team took a hard time scheduling a fight and making it happen.
“Some fights are harder to make than others, but I don’t think we’ve ever lied about making a fight. Why would we lie about that fight?”
Israel Adesanya x Robert Whittaker 2 is official for Feb. 12 in Houston, per the broadcast.

Adesanya is probably just messing around – or calling UFC on announcing the fight before the contracts are signed. This has been something the UFC has done repeatedly as of late. Adesanya’s gesture doesn’t necessarily mean that Dana White is a liar but it’s surely an interesting comment.
Adesanya will likely rematch Robert Whittaker in February. In October 2019, Adesanya fought the Australian for the first time and won the match via a second-round knockout, winning the unified middleweight title.
Since that loss, Whittaker has amounted 3 consecutive wins and is ready to challenge Adesanya again.
