In a surprising turn of events Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are considering an MMA matchup. UFC president Dana White has expressed his seriousness about making this historic matchup happen.
The initial spark for this unconventional idea came from a Twitter exchange between Facebook founder Zuckerberg and Musk, the visionary behind Tesla and SpaceX.
After Zuckerberg announced his intention to introduce his own variation of Twitter, Musk took to the platform to speak against it. He humorously suggested a “cage match” with Zuckerberg, stating: “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”
In a surprising response, Zuckerberg quickly replied: “Send me location.” This triggered a wave of social media reactions and speculation about the possibility of a face-off between these influential personalities.
Renowned for his role in promoting and organizing exciting bouts, Dana White spoke about the matter in a recent interview with TMZ. White revealed that he had spoken to both Zuckerberg and Musk personally and was fully committed to facilitating the match if they were genuinely interested.
White confirmed: “They both said, ‘Yeah, we’ll do it.’ They both want to do it. Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, ‘Is (Musk) serious?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, let me ask him.’ I asked him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m dead serious.’”
White went on to say that the match may end up being the biggest PPV ever.
He continued: “Listen, if these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see. That’s what I do for a living. If they really want to do it and they’re serious, and we can figure out a way to pull this off, I would absolutely, positively do this.”
Dana White expressed his belief that this potential clash between Zuckerberg and Musk could easily become the most significant match in history, surpassing any other combat sports event to date.
He firmly believes that the match would capture the attention and interest of not only combat sports fans but also individuals from all walks of life.
White continued: “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records. These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
