Dana White calls Brendan Schaub ‘a lunatic’ discussing UFC 279 card shuffle

Dana White recently refuted a notion that claimed Khamzat Chimaev had been told to miss weight for UFC 279 by the UFC. White went off on Pat Miletich because he first thought that he had developed the thory.

According to White, Miletich could need to go to a “brain clinic” to invent such conspiracies. At a recent DWCS post-fight news conference, the UFC president stated:

“Like Pat Miletich was saying, we told Khamzat not to make weight because we weren’t selling tickets. The f***ing show was sold out going into that day of the weigh-ins. I don’t know if Pat really said that, but if he did, he has to be the dumbest m*therf***** on the planet.”

“I mean, you know how stupid you have to be to even think something like that, let alone say it publicly and act like you’re serious… If Pat really said that, holy s**t! We might well have to send him out to the brain clinic to get him f***ing checked out.”

White was told by a reporter that the idea was originally Brendan Schaub’s, indicating that the former TUF winner was the one that originally spoke about it. The UFC president then apologized to Miletich and said that it made sense coming from Schaub.

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub appeared to believe that there is an attempt to rig UFC 279’s results. Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz’s five-round welterweight bout was originally slated to serve as the main event of the UFC 279 program, however it was cancelled in an unprecedented shuffle that ended up affecting 3 bouts on main card.

MMA’s least favorite analyst, Brendan Schaub,  commented on the aforementioned  card shuffle on Twitter. He speculated that there may be a conspiracy at play.

Schaub tweeted: “THANK GOD #UFC279 is still happening BUT doesn’t it all seem a lil fishy? All three main fights get switched mmmmmhmm #Conspiracy #Earthisnotflat”

Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren was quick to disagree and see through Schaub.

Askren tweeted: “What’s the conspiracy??? I’m sure Li, Rodriguez and Holland got fat envelopes.”

What Askren failed to realize is that this is just an attempt for Schaub to astroturf his newfound ‘media company’.

A much more likely conspiracy is Schaub’s complete lack of originality as evidenced by the logo of his new ‘business venture’

As the ultimate yes man, Schaub folded immediately.

“Agree, I’m sure everyone got paid. I don’t think it’s due to Khamzat missing weight. I think it got switched due to #UFC279 not trending well since it was such a mismatch”

But Pat Miletich’s also had similar claims so he’s not blameless. On Instagram, the former UFC welterweight champion stated:

“So the UFC that is tonight is pretty interesting when you see a guy that’s wrestled his whole life, a guy from Chechnya nonetheless, miss weight by seven and a half pounds. That certainly wasn’t by accident. I’m pretty sure the card was not selling well on pay-per-view. And they told him, ‘Miss weight big so we can put you against Holland. Because this thing is not selling. We gotta shake things and cause a scene and get some attention on this card.'”
