Dan Hooker shares X-ray revealing the staggering injury from classic against Jalin Turner

In a display of incredible toughness, Dan Hooker kept on competing through what he initially dismissed as a mere scratch to secure a split decision win against Jalin Turner at UFC 290. However, it was later revealed that the Kiwi had suffered a broken arm during the bout.

During the octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Hooker was asked about the possibility of a broken arm, to which he casually replied, “It’s just a scratch. We’ll have to see.” Despite his nonchalant response, Hooker did not attend the press conference as he was immediately taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. He later shared an X-ray on social media, clearly indicating a broken bone.

Hooker’s resilience and determination were on full display throughout the clash. Earlier in the week, he had expressed his offense at being offered a bout with Tony Ferguson by his manager. Despite the criticism he faced for his statement, Hooker proved his mettle against Turner, who was considered a formidable opponent with a string of victories in his recent outings.

Having faced tough competitors like Arnold Allen, Islam Makhachev, Michael Chandler, and Dustin Poirier in his previous bouts, Hooker’s victory over Turner silenced his critics and showcased his ability to rise to the occasion.

The bout between Hooker and Turner was highly anticipated, given their combined 22 first-round finishes. Although many expected an early ending, the contest extended into the second round after an intense and action-packed opening. Turner started strong, landing crisp shots, but Hooker adjusted and showcased his resilience as the clash progressed.

During the match, an official timeout was called due to a low blow from Hooker. After the brief interruption, Turner found success countering Hooker’s leg kicks, particularly with a front kick to the body.

Despite the suspected broken arm and the formidable challenge posed by Turner, Hooker demonstrated his grit and determination to secure the victory. His performance added another thrilling chapter to the eventful UFC 290 card, which featured statement knockouts and submissions.
