Dan Hooker gets questionable back tattoo after IV-gate

Dan Hooker has been all over the media thanks to some accusations he posted on twitter in fall out from UFC 284. The New Zealander isn’t sweating the public scrutiny and had made no further comments on the topic.

Makhachev, his team, USADA and Western Australia athletic commission all denied that there is an investigation into the issue and claim that nothing untoward took place.

Hooker opted to get a big back tattoo in the fall out from the drama, and not elaborate on his comments or share any proof he might’ve had.

Sadly for Hooker, this tattoo belongs on our list of Worst UFC tattoos – due to similarities it has to another on the list.

Perhaps the worst tattoo in the promotion belongs to Alexander Volkov. Volkov had a somewhat clean cut image for a time. But soon he got a stingray tattooed across his back.

While the stingray isn’t exactly great – at least it’s not too jarring. But apparently Volkov disagreed and he got the stingray covered by a free image that you too can get printed on yourself or your shorts.

Volkanovski appears to have gotten a version of “Samurai in black mask. japan traditional fighter. vintage isolated vector illustration” freepik template to cover the stingray.

It looks like Hooker’s ‘designer’ also didn’t take his artistry too far.

Beyond that it’s interesting to note that this is a graphic commonly seen on dropshipped gear and other MMA related items. Dan Hooker also appeared to awkwardly choose the spot for the tattoo, with the edges clearly outlined.
