Conor McGregor Wants to Have a Fight While He’s President of Ireland

Conor McGregor didn’t just entertain the idea of becoming Ireland’s president – he embraced it with his characteristic bravado, complete with the possibility of defending a title while in office.

When a journalist provocatively asked,

“If you were to be president of Ireland, would you ponder contemplating fighting and being president at the same time?”

McGregor‘s response was instantaneous and electrifying.

“Hell yes!”

he exclaimed, with a mischievous grin. He then painted a vivid picture:

“Imagine being announced: ‘Entering the Octagon, the notorious president of Ireland, Conor McGregor!'”

But McGregor‘s political aspirations are more than just a fighting fantasy. He’s serious about addressing what he sees as critical issues in Irish politics. During the press conference, he spoke passionately about his concerns regarding the EU migration pact, which he believes threatens Ireland’s indigenous population.

“There is an issue with the EU migration pact that’s essentially the ruination of Ireland,”

McGregor stated firmly.

“It will be the ruination of the indigenous people of Ireland. I came out and was like, I’m going to dispute that. I’m going to fight and put that towards a referendum for the people.”

He doesn’t shy away from the complexity of political maneuvering, acknowledging that

“politics is a very, very dirty game.”

However, McGregor believes he has strategic moves to

“alter and correct Ireland and its situation where the political elite have a grasp on power and are fully removed from the people.”

Interestingly, McGregor claims he has high-level political backing.

“I have the backing of President Trump,”

he revealed, adding that he’s been making significant connections in Washington.

The fighter-turned-potential-politician sees his unique background as an asset. When asked how he would leverage his combat sports and business experience in politics, McGregor suggested he has multiple strategies to address Ireland’s challenges.

While the idea of a fighting president might seem like pure fantasy to some, for Conor McGregor, it’s just another boundary waiting to be crossed.

“Hell yes!”

indeed.
