Conor McGregor breaks silence on TUF return: ‘I’m throwing up my high kicks faster than I’m throwing out my jab’

After two years away from the cage, Conor McGregor has said that he is “energetic and ready” for his UFC rematch against Michael Chandler.

The comeback of the former two-weight world champion was announced earlier this month, but McGregor did not speak out besides retweets and some vague image captions. Just hours before taking a flight to Las Vegas to film the reality TV show, McGregor finally broke his silence in an exclusive interview with Mirror.

McGregor will depart on Tuesday to start the preparations for his upcoming bout.

Regarding Chandler, McGregor commented:

“I’m looking forward to it. I feel good, I feel energetic, I feel ready. I’m throwing up my high kicks faster than I’m throwing out my jab. So I’m very excited to get back. [I fly to Vegas] tomorrow.”

In a promo video that had the combat sports community buzzing, UFC President Dana White revealed the big upcoming match. However, no definite date or venue has been set yet.

Chandler said in an ESPN interview:

“If he lands one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for me. If I land one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for him, but which one of us can do it? I’m going to get in his face, make him take a backwards step right away.”

“He’s going to feel my presence from the very beginning of the fight and then from there wherever the fight takes us. If I want to pick him up and put him down, I can pick him up and put him down and put a beating on him and get a submission that way.”

“I believe I finish Conor in the second round. That’s my ‘Mystic Mike’ take on this, later on this year whenever it is.”

McGregor still appears absent from the USADA database and he’s looking at a 6 month requirement once he enters it before he’s eligible to compete in the UFC.
