Chris Avila talks Nate Diaz’s incident with Dillon Danis At MSG

Chris Avila is a long time traineeof the Nick Diaz Academy. He recently shared details of an altercation between Nate Diaz and controversial combat sports figure Dillon Danis last year.

The incident occurred outside Madison Square Garden in New York City after the UFC 281 middleweight clash between then-champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira.

According to Avila, the altercation began inside the arena.

He revealed in an interview with InsideFighting that they were walking around the snack bar area when they encountered Danis.

Nate Diaz approached Danis and smacked him in the face with a beer. Avila added that his friends then threw beer and slapped Danis. The incident resulted in Danis being drenched in beer and getting kicked out of the arena.

Upon leaving the arena, Avila and the group saw Danis again outside the building. Danis’ coach was allegedly talking trash, and Nate Diaz approached and smacked him for it. Danis, meanwhile, was reportedly hiding behind his coach.

Avila also shared that Danis deserved an “a** beating” during a recent interview. The MMA vet turned professional boxer stated that he does not care about Danis, but the latter deserves a beating for his behavior.

Avila competed in the UFC and Bellator, but he was released by both promotions after going a combined 1-4.

He holds an underwhelming record of 8-9 in MMA, with his last two wins coming under the North Iowa Fights label in 2021. Avila transitioned to professional boxing in 2021, earning decision wins over Anthony Joshua and Mikhail Varshavski.

He is scheduled for his third bout inside the squared circle against Paul Bamba at MF & DAZN X Series 6 on April 21.
