Charles Do Bronx adamant McGregor is ducking him

Charles Do Bronx might not be getting the PPV for his next bout so it’s unclear why he’s targeting Conor McGregor.

The freshly stripped lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira is keeping his options open. Having finished the most interesting contenders in the division he’s left with lackluster Islam Makhachev and Beniel Dariush. While Makhachev has yet to prove himself against a top contender, Conor McGregor is enjoying his break from USADA and soaking up the sun in Cannes.

McGregor is said to still be rehabilitating his broken leg and a return is under a question mark. As is – he would need to be in the USADA program for 6 months in order to be eligible to appear in the octagon.

But he’s still the much more profitable option for Oliveira.
“I think when we’re on a losing streak, we should think a lot about who our next opponent will be, right?” Oliveira told Face Off’s Luis Coutinho in a recent interview.

“I think for some time now, he’s been thinking a lot that I’m the division problem. That I’m a problem to fight him. And I think the answer has already been given, right? He ran, is in shock at what could happen.” [Translation via Brazilian MMA Legends on YouTube]

McGregor is rumored to be targeting a welterweight return, however even with the intense bulk he’s somewhat short for the division not to mention he has nothing to gain against Usman. The easiest option at Welterweight would be a clash of superstars against Jorge Masvidal – who is also on a losing spree and much smaller than other welterweights.
