Mya Lesnar has once again dominated the collegiate shot put scene, securing another NCAA championship title and further cementing her legacy in track and field.
The daughter of WWE superstar Brock Lesnar continues to forge her own impressive path in athletics, most recently clinching the NCAA indoor shot put championship with a remarkable throw of 18.53 meters. This performance not only earned her the championship but also shattered Colorado State University’s women’s shot put record.
“I’ve been at the bottom and now I’ve been at the top,” Mya reflected after her victory. “We try really hard to just focus on making the best out of this process and not really thinking about necessarily the outcome. Everybody wants a great outcome, but just focusing on my cues, taking it day by day and yeah, just enjoying every day before it.”
Mya’s achievement marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first-ever women’s indoor track and field NCAA Champion from Colorado State University. Following in the footsteps of her father, who was a former NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion, Mya has now established herself as a second-generation NCAA Champion.
Her coach has noticed significant growth in her approach to competition. “She’s just taking her throwing to a whole nother level. It’s fun to see her compete with joy and not be an angry competitor all the time,” the coach observed. “Just seeing her maturity level, ability to focus in competition, stay off the panic button a little more often. So she’s doing a much better job and we’ve really kind of locked in on what works for her and what technical cues work and which ones don’t.”
Currently ranked as the number one women’s shot putter in the United States, Mya now sets her sights on the outdoor championships. With her trajectory of success, speculation has begun about potential Olympic aspirations, with the 2028 Summer Olympics looming on the horizon.
While her athletic accomplishments continue to capture headlines, questions about her future beyond shot put occasionally surface. As the daughter of a wrestling icon, some wonder if she might eventually transition into professional wrestling, though no such plans have been announced.
For now, Mya Lesnar remains focused on her athletic career, building her own legacy while honoring the competitive spirit that runs in her family.
