Brendan Schaub delivers yet another viral ‘Schaubism’ after wild take on Moon landing

Former UFC competitor turned podcaster Brendan Schaub has once again found himself at the center of internet mockery after delivering another memorable verbal stumble during a recent episode of The Golden Hour podcast.

The 42-year-old, who transitioned from mixed martial arts to entertainment following his retirement from the octagon in 2014, managed to mangle one of history’s most famous achievements while attempting to discuss theories with his co-host Chris D’Elia.

“You also believe in the land mooning,” Schaub said, before catching himself and attempting to correct the error. The host, confused asks: “The what?”

Schaub replies: The land mooning? The land… the mooning? The landing on the moon, Jesus Christ, all this diet coke’s f****** up my brain.”

The moment quickly went viral, with fans dubbing it another classic “Schaubism” – a term coined by internet users to describe his frequent verbal missteps and mispronunciations that have become a trademark of his podcast appearances.

But Schaub’s moon landing mix-up was just the beginning of a broader discussion that revealed his skeptical stance toward government transparency. He argued that if officials are willing to deceive the public about major historical events, it raises questions about what other information might be withheld.

“You should, though [care about if the US Government lied about the moon landing], because if they are going to lie about that, what else are they lying about,” Schaub explained to his audience. “JFK, there’s a whole history there, Vietnam.”

The Colorado native went on to suggest that the government’s handling of controversial historical events is contributing to the rise of such theories. He believes officials are failing to adapt their communication strategies to modern times, where information spreads rapidly through online channels.

“People are not going to let it go [the question of who k**led JFK],” Schaub continued. “The government is still operating like it is the 1990s. What they don’t realise is that with the internet in this day and age, they are never going to let it go. You have to address it.”

Since retiring from professional mixed martial arts, Schaub has built his presence as a podcaster, television host, and stand-up comedian. However, his verbal gaffes have become a major part of his public persona.
