Brendan Schaub called out Bert Kreischer for standing by while Ronda Rousey made viral Joe Rogan comments

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub has publicly criticized comedian Bert Kreischer for failing to defend Joe Rogan after former UFC champion Ronda Rousey disparaged the podcast host during an appearance on Kreischer’s Bertcast.

During the Bertcast podcast, Rousey took an unprovoked shot at Rogan, dismissing his MMA expertise by stating, “He wouldn’t know. He’s not an expert. He’s a fan with an audience.”

The comment, which referred to Rogan’s lack of professional combat experience, visibly caught Kreischer off guard, leaving him uncomfortable and uncertain how to respond.

Schaub didn’t hold back his disappointment with Kreischer’s reaction on a recent episode of his own show. “When you bring somebody on and they throw a jab at your boy, I don’t understand how you don’t defend them or stick up for them,” Schaub said. “It’s such c*ck behavior. I don’t understand. What you’re not going to do is come on my platform and throw jabs at one of my friends.”

Schaub emphasized that while he wasn’t suggesting Kreischer needed to engage in confrontation, he expected him to stand up for Rogan given their close friendship. Schaub compared the situation to similar incidents involving other comedians, particularly Andrew Schulz’s recent defense of Rogan against Andrew Santino.

Interestingly, Schaub’s critique was somewhat contradictory. While lambasting Kreischer for not defending Rogan, he simultaneously acknowledged that Rogan himself would likely agree with Rousey’s assessment that he’s never been a professional fighter.

“Rogan’s not walking the streets of Austin claiming to be some badass,” Schaub admitted. “He wouldn’t disagree.”

Rousey, who hasn’t fought since her devastating 2016 loss to Amanda Nunes, has been openly critical of Rogan in recent years. She’s accused him and other media figures of “turning” on her after her downfall, despite Rogan once being among her most enthusiastic supporters.

During her dominant UFC run, Rogan famously claimed she could “beat half the men’s bantamweight division” and praised her striking abilities. These comments that aged poorly after her knockout losses exposed significant weaknesses in her game.
