Brandon Moreno came into UFC 277 with a lot of backstory concerning him and the champion Deiveson Figueiredo. The fact that UFC is giving out yet another interim title didn’t sit right with Deiveson Figueiredo.
Moreno and Kai Kara France served as the co main event of UFC 277.
The bout started measured and the two were on an equal footing heading into round 3. Early on in Round 3, Moreno had a cut open under his eye due to an elbow. He ate more damage but managed to scramble up. On his feet, Moreno tried for a spinning back fist . Kara-France appeared to gain momentum however Moreno ended that real fast throwing a liver kick to the body. Kai Kara France went down like a rock. Moreno followed up and landed more ground and pound until Herb Dean finally stepped in and called it.
Deiveson Figueiredo was brought into the cage after the victory announcement. Moreno subsequently apologized for past comments. Moreno-Figueiredo IV seems to be a shoe in with Figueiredo asking for it to be in Brazil.
