Boxing champion aims to break the internet by facing former Miss Swimsuit USA

Ebanie Bridges wants to break the internet by facing former Miss Swimsuit USA International winner Avril Mathie.

In a recent interview with Boxing Social, the Blonde Bomber said, “I got the mandatory out of the way. So, I wouldn’t mind a voluntary comeback from my hand injury. I would like to fight […] Avril Mathie. I like the look of her and she’s tough.”.

There are several reasons why this should take place. The Aussie boxers are known for wearing skimpy clothing during their weigh-ins.

They have comparable professional records. Bridges is fresh off her victory against Shannon O’Connell and is currently at 9-1-0. Mathie suffered the first loss in her pro career against Ramla Ali earlier this year.

She is currently at 8-1-1. Both boxers are incredibly popular on social media. They are also content creators on the saucy adults-only platform, OnlyFans.

Bridges however feels that this blockbuster event would take place only if the financials made sense.

She said, “I’m at that point in my career that I know I am the queen of the division and everyone wants me so really the ball is in my court and what I want to do and money talks so I’ll fight who I want but I have to get paid right.”.

This bout will certainly be lucrative considering that it is an interesting match-up. Gimmicks like racy weigh-ins and OF collaborations would definitely ensure that there is sufficient traction.

The Bridges vs Mathie bout was supposed to take place last year. However, Bridges had to defend her IBF female bantamweight title against Shannon O’Connell. After the title defense, she broke her hand and had to undergo surgery. While she was recovering from her injury, she became active on OF.

Mathie faced Ramla Ali in February 2023 and she lost that bout. While talking about the potential matchup with Bridges, Mathie stated, “I think [Ebanie] is very intelligent and I take my hat off to her.”
