Boxer sues ex to recoup $350k in gifts he gave her during the relationship

Professional boxer Devin Haney has filed a lawsuit against his former fiancée, Leena Sayed. Haney is demanding the return of luxury gifts worth $350,000 that he claims were given with the expectation of marriage.

The legal action, filed in Los Angeles County, centers around high-end items including exclusive Hermès handbags, an Audemars Piguet watch, and diamond jewelry. Haney’s legal team argues that under California law, these gifts were conditional upon the couple’s planned wedding, and since the marriage was ultimately canceled, Sayed should be required to return them.

This marks the second lawsuit between the former couple in less than a month. Previously, Haney had filed separate legal proceedings against Sayed, accusing her of extortion and defamation.

The relationship between the two has deteriorated significantly, with Sayed having obtained a domestic violence restraining order against the boxer. Her attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, characterized the current lawsuit as retaliatory.

He told TMZ: “this appears to be an extension of his campaign to punish her for having obtained a domestic violence restraining order against him, after suing her civilly for what she had to file in court to get the restraining order. He needs to get real.”

The former couple began their relationship approximately two years ago. The two share a daughter named Khrome, born in January of this year. The ongoing legal dispute has expanded beyond the gift return claim, with Haney seeking more than $500,000 in total damages across various property-related grievances.
