In a recent social media post, Senator Bernie Sanders strongly backed podcast host Joe Rogan’s perspective on healthcare in the United States, stating “Joe Rogan is absolutely right about this.”
Rogan, who hosts one of the most popular podcasts globally, has expressed his support for a socially funded healthcare system. “I think health care, 100%, should be socially funded,” Rogan stated during a recent podcast episode.
The influential media personality elaborated on his position, emphasizing the importance of programs like Medicare and Medicaid. He highlighted the critical role these programs play in ensuring Americans can receive necessary medical care without facing financial ruin.

“Having programs where people who are hurt can get an operation and it’s not going to bankrupt them for the rest of their life is another thing that I think society should be, it should be a part of our agreement to take care of each other as a community,” Rogan said.
Rogan’s comments reflect growing concerns about healthcare affordability in the United States, where medical debt remains a leading cause of personal bankruptcy. His perspective aligns with Senator Sanders’ long-standing advocacy for universal healthcare coverage.
“We chip in money for what people would think of as socialist positions,” Rogan added, acknowledging that some might characterize such healthcare systems as socialist, but framing it as a communal responsibility.
Sanders, who has championed Medicare for All throughout his political career, clearly sees Rogan’s statements as reinforcing his own policy positions on healthcare reform.
The senator’s endorsement of Rogan’s comments comes amid ongoing national debate about the future of healthcare in America and potential pathways to expand coverage while reducing costs for everyday Americans.
