Fitness influencer Wes Watson, known for his aggressive “alpha male” persona and muscular physique, has become the subject of intense online scrutiny after visibly shrinking over recent months. YouTuber Jon Bravo Films talked about it in a recent video.
The dramatic transformation has sparked widespread discussion across social media, with critics pointing out the stark contrast between his current appearance and the image he’s long projected to his followers.
In response to the mounting criticism, Watson addressed the elephant in the room during an Instagram video, attempting to justify his physical decline. “I’ve been big. I’ve been small. I’ve been 265 and ripped,” he explained, adding that he can fluctuate between 220 and 240 pounds “in a week and a half.” However, his explanations have done little to quell the controversy, particularly given his history of harsh criticism toward others for their physiques.
The irony hasn’t been lost on observers. Watson, who once told his audience “you’re not a real man if you have 10-in arms and tits,” now finds himself on the receiving end of similar commentary.
YouTube creator Jon Bravo Films pointed out this hypocrisy, noting that Watson has been “bullying and picking on people for years” for the very physical traits he now displays.
Watson’s justifications for his transformation ranged from claiming fitness was never his focus to criticizing gym enthusiasts as “antisocial” and “stupid.” He stated, “A lot of you guys are very antisocial, very stupid. You’re not successful because you’re a dumb gym idiot.”
He also suggested that maintaining his previous physique prevented him from spending time with loved ones, asking, “Want to know why? Cuz I missed out on the people I love.”
Critics find these explanations contradictory, especially considering Watson’s brand was built on the slogan “ripped, rich, rare.” His apparent abandonment of the first pillar of his own philosophy while refusing to acknowledge the real reasons behind his physical decline has led many to question his authenticity.
The situation has become contentious enough that videos discussing Watson’s transformation have mysteriously been taken down from YouTube, only to be reinstated when no violations were found.
