Ali ‘Gorlock’ Lopez Lost 40lbs Thanks To GLP-1s In Preparation For Boxing Debut

Ali “Gorlock” Lopez has dropped 41 lbs (18.6 kg) ahead of her boxing debut, and she credits GLP-1 treatments for most of that progress.

The viral content creator sat down with Andy on the Creators Inc. podcast to talk through her upcoming match against Mexican influencer La Shamaka, how GLP-1s changed her relationship with food, and why she agreed to a matchup she openly admits she might lose.

Lopez, 27, has been trying to get onto a Brand Risk card for nearly two years, but regulatory issues with the commission kept blocking it. The path finally opened through a podcast appearance with a Mexican influencer, which connected her to an opportunity she viewed as a way to reach a new audience in Mexico.

She went into the conversation with no illusions about her odds.

“I’m not a figh ter. I know I’m probably going to walk into this match and get my a*s whooped,” she told Andy. “But I’m definitely going to go in there to defend myself.”

Her opponent holds both a height and reach advantage, meaning Shamaka can land punches from farther away while Lopez has to close the distance first. Growth, she acknowledged, is a bigger motivator than the paycheck for this particular event.

The physical preparation has come largely from GLP-1 treatment she started in November, with consistent use from January onward.

“I lost 41 pounds since I started in January,” she said. “I notice it more so in like my physical aspect.”

After a brief switch to a different treatment around late May that she did not enjoy, she has since returned to her original prescription.

When the host asked what she’s taking, she said,” I was on tirzepatide in January and then I switched over to retatrutide like around late May. I didn’t really like it. So, I’m going back on tirzepatide. GLP1s changed a lot for me.”

Lopez describes herself as a binge eater, particularly when anxious, and says the medication helped interrupt that pattern. “When I have anxiety or when I freak out, I’m a binge eater,” she explained.

The results have been noticeable in daily life. “I’m getting in my car without huffing and puffing. I’m able to walk a little bit more without feeling I need an inhaler. Just being a little bit more active and proactive and not getting so tired,” she said.

She takes one injection per week, currently at 25 units, and summed up her view on GLP-1s plainly: “I love it.”

One side effect she mentioned was unexpected: “My drive for like intimacy has like gone down like a lot.” She clarified it was not intentional, describing herself as having been unintentionally celibate since starting the treatment.
