Alex Pereira gained close to 40 lbs TWO days after bout

Weight cutting is a real issue in MMA – because size does matter. Recently ginormous middleweight contender Alex Pereira shared some of his numbers just two days after defeating Sean Strickland at UFC 276 with a knock out.

Pereira managed to recover from 185lbs on the scale to 219 lbs – well into heavyweight ie two divisions over just in the past two days.

Pereira is pretty big in stature. Here’s him next to teammate – former light heavyweight UFC champion  Glover Teixeira.

For those keeping score at home, that’s Pereira next to Glover Teixeira, former Light heavyweight champion in the UFC.

Pereira is following in the footsteps of some recent UFC champions, notably Aljamain Sterling shared how much weight he gained following his clash with challenger Petr Yan some months back.

Prior to the long-awaited rematch with Yan, Sterling successfully tipped the scale below the bantamweight limit at 134.5 pounds.

While he used to admit that he is walking around at 154 pounds, he was surprised to find out that he is now weighing in at 176 pounds.

‘Funkmaster’ shared the video on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, with captions that expressed his surprises on them, saying he felt “ridiculous” and “sick”.

On his Instagram, he wrote “I am a bacon right now! Enjoying the fruits of my labor, but this is getting ridiculous!”
