Adesanya spotted with a watch valued close to $100,000 ahead of UFC 287

In the upcoming UFC 287 main event at Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Israel Adesanya will go against Alex Pereira for the middleweight belt.

Surprisingly, oddsmaker favor Adesanya with a -155, making him the favorite over Pereira’s +135. Adesanya himself admits he did not expect this outcome.

“I am surprised by that, to be honest, because I thought these bookies were not as smart as they are,” said Adesanya to TMZ.

“I’m surprised they actually picked me as the favorite because I am the more polished fighter, but he’s just the guy that’s got the tools, he’s got that nuke. Only a few fighters in history have that.”

Adesanya may have been so confident he treated himself to a luxury watch beforehand.

Adesanya further added that he believes he is the more refined mixed martial artist, and that may be the reason why oddsmakers are favoring him. However, he also acknowledges the skills that Pereira brings to the table, comparing him to greats like Mike Tyson, David Tua, and Deontay Wilder.

“Eugene said in an interview: You’re lucky to face a Mike Tyson. You’re lucky to face a guy like David Tua. You’re lucky to face a guy like Deontay Wilder, even just once in your career. You’re lucky to face a guy like Alex Pereira even once in your career. So yeah, lucky me,” Adesanya explained.

Despite being the underdog, Alex Pereira’s impressive track record speaks volumes. Pereira has won all of his UFC outings so far, making him the reigning champion. He is known for his strong striking abilities and knockout power, making him a force to be reckoned with.

Adesanya, on the other hand, will come into the eventwith an impressive 23-2 MMA and 12-2 UFC record. He has won titles across various weight classes and is considered one of the most well-rounded guys in the game.
