UFC middleweight star Israel Adesanya revealed he had a close call with embattled hip-hop mogul P Diddy last year in Miami..
Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Adesanya recounted how he was invited to potentially meet with Diddy after knocking out Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in April 2023.
“After I knocked out Pereira in Miami we went to Tootsie’s the next night and they were like ‘Yo P Diddy was here watching your fight last night,'” Adesanya said. “I was like ‘Wait, word?’ Crazy.”
The fighter then checked his DMs and saw Diddy had reached out about potentially doing an interview. Adesanya passed along his manager’s contact info, but nothing ever materialized from the interaction.
In hindsight, Adesanya expressed relief at avoiding any further contact with Diddy, who is currently embroiled in serious legal troubles and allegations of SA and misconduct.
“That’s why I said God be protecting me,” Adesanya reflected. “Who knows, like you never know – ‘Oh we’re having this party later on.’ Yeah that’s cool, all cool. And then they start to like, you know, you find some chick you pull on you and then boom – ‘Oh how was that 15-year-old?’ Like wait, what? And you’re filmed.”
