UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell has become the talk of the MMA community after revealing he once dated a woman who he claims was a “witch” who became “fully possessed” before he “casted her out in the name of Jesus.”
And Mitchell is a literalist – after all he thinks the Bible is to be interpreted verbatim and he even once made the claim that kids lulaby twinkle twinkle little star is scientific evidence.
Mitchell made these startling claims during a podcast appearance on Anthony Smith’s podcast where he discussed his spiritual awakening. The Arkansas native detailed how this supernatural experience opened his eyes “to the spirit realm” and fundamentally changed his worldview.
“I was dating a witch. She became fully possessed, was destroying my life, and then I casted her out in the name of Jesus,” Mitchell explained during the interview. “Since then, my eyes have been completely open to the spirit realm.”
Social media erupted with reactions to Mitchell’s unusual testimony, with fans offering a mix of mockery, concern, and occasional support.
One Twitter user shared what they claimed was an old photo of Mitchell with his girlfriend, captioning it “Bryce Mitchell when he was younger with his GF 🧙♀️,” alongside a witch emoji.
Another commenter wrote, “Someone needs to get this dude an I love me jacket,” while a different fan simply stated, “I like Bryce, but he’s special.”
The revelation sparked varied responses across the MMA community. “Bryce living in The Vampire Diaries 😭,” joked one fan, referencing the supernatural TV series.
Not all reactions were critical. One supporter posted, “I relate to Bryce Mitchell more and more everyday,” showing some fans appreciate his openness about his spiritual beliefs.
During the same interview, Mitchell also claimed to have experienced divine communication, stating that God had put his interviewer on his mind for two days prior to being contacted about appearing on the podcast.
“I can’t prove it. There’s no mathematics or science that can prove that, but I’m just telling you,” Mitchell insisted.
Mitchell has previously been known for his outspoken views on various topics, with his latest supernatural claims adding another chapter to his colorful public persona.
One fan noted this wasn’t the first time Mitchell had shared the story, commenting, “He already said this on @THATBOYMMAGURU pod absolute casual,” suggesting the tale has been part of Mitchell’s personal narrative for some time.
Whether believers or skeptics, UFC fans continue to react to Mitchell’s paranormal claims as the fighter remains unafraid to share his spiritual experiences with the world.
