Bryce Mitchell Taunted by Jean Silva Over Flat-Earth, other fringe takes

In a tense exchange at Friday’s UFC 314 press conference in Las Vegas, Bryce Mitchell faced heavy criticism and jeers from both the crowd and his opponent Jean Silva over his controversial beliefs and recent statements.

Mitchell, ranked #13 in the featherweight division, appeared visibly uncomfortable as he attempted to address his recent widely-criticized comments, which he had previously tried to retract. The Arkansas native barely began speaking when Silva interrupted his attempt to reference Jesus.

“F*ck Bryce Mitchell,” Silva repeatedly chanted, attempting to rally the audience to join in. Mitchell, initially silent, eventually responded, “You’re barking up the wrong tree motherf*cker,” but his words had little impact.

Silva escalated the confrontation by brandishing a globe, mocking Mitchell’s well-known flat-Earth beliefs. “You’re going to start seeing the world as round. You’re going to start seeing that soon,” Silva taunted, while Mitchell sarcastically replied, “Oh so you’re a scientist now. Tell us more.”

The press conference continued to deteriorate as Silva asserted dominance over the exchanges. “Bryce Mitchell, calm down bro. You’re only here because of me,” Silva declared. “I have advice for you. Don’t pick up the mic. It’s getting ugly.”

When Mitchell attempted to defend himself, mentioning his faith, Silva countered by referencing his own “Lord” tattoo, leading to Mitchell’s response: “you have lord on your chest, I have the lord in my heart.”

The heated exchange highlighted the growing tensions between the two competitors ahead of their scheduled April meeting, with Mitchell’s controversial statements clearly overshadowing the sporting aspects of their upcoming encounter.
