In a recent podcast appearance, former UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson shared their perspectives on social media personality Bradley Martyn’s recurring comments about professional athletes.
Martyn, a 260-pound bodybuilder and YouTuber, has gained attention for repeatedly suggesting he could succeed against professional combat sports athletes due to his size advantage.
Johnson, who recently announced his retirement, didn’t mince words about Martyn’s behavior. “You know, I look at Bradley Martyn as a gentleman who is looking for clout, and he’s saying these things, right,” Johnson stated.
Adesanya revealed a previously untold encounter involving Martyn at Jake Paul’s residence during the time of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.’s exhibition match. “We were in the house, and then at one point, there’s a ring in the backyard. And I got word through someone that, ‘Oh, this guy’s trying to get Izzy in the ring.’ And I said, ‘Nah, I’m just here to have fun. I ain’t doing none of that,'” Adesanya recounted.
The former middleweight champion continued his criticism of Martyn’s regular attempts to compare himself to professionals. “Anytime I see him with a fighter and he tries to be like, ‘Oh, how would I—’ No. Like, stop that. Just—just stop that… Some people aren’t even man enough to wash the jocks we fight in.”
While Johnson has officially concluded his career, Adesanya’s future remains uncertain, with fans eagerly awaiting news about his next move in the sport.
