(Video) Conor McGregor tried to square up with a 7’1” NBA player in the middle of the game

UFC superstar Conor McGregor found himself looking way up during an unexpected courtside interaction with Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez at the Delta Center.

During the Jazz-Bucks game, McGregor, who has been making various public appearances across the United States, decided to approach the Bucks bench where he encountered the towering 7’1″ Lopez. The size difference between the two athletes became immediately apparent, creating a scene that had fans around the arena buzzing.

Lopez later revealed the details of their interaction to reporters in the post-game locker room. “He asked me how tall I was,” Lopez explained. “I let him know and he asked me to stand up and I did. I knew at that point once I got up I had to size him up, I had to do a little something, I’ve seen the face-offs before so I knew I had to do my part.”

The Bucks center, who won an NBA Championship in 2021, showed his humorous side when discussing the encounter, suggesting teammate Damian Lillard could potentially guide him in any future encounters. “If something’s going to happen maybe Dame could be my promoter, be my manager and teach me how to fight. Because I’ve got nothing, I’ve really got nothing so I’m going to have to rely on Dame for that one.”

When reminded of McGregor’s recent acting debut in RoadHouse, Lopez playfully expressed interest in future collaborations, stating, “I’m here for that, I am quite theatrical.”

The encounter came during a disappointing night for the Bucks, who ultimately fell to the Utah Jazz. McGregor, who has been spotted at various high-profile events recently, including Donald Trump’s inauguration and Saturday night’s BKFC show in Philadelphia, certainly made his presence felt at the Delta Center, even if he may have bitten off more than he could chew with the basketball giant.
