In a heartwarming moment that combined athletic achievement with personal joy, Brazilian Muay Thai athlete Bárbara Aguiar celebrated her world championship victory with a surprise proposal to her boyfriend at Thailand’s historic Rajadamnern Stadium.

Aguiar, known as ‘The Anaconda,’ secured the RWS Muay Thai World Championship in the women’s 2024 Female Bantamweight division with a decisive fourth-round victory over Thailand’s Kwanjai Kwanjaimuaythaigym. The technical win earned her the prestigious title and a prize of approximately $84,000.

But the champion wasn’t done making memories. Still wearing her championship belt and gloves, Aguiar dropped to one knee in the ring and proposed to her long-time partner, who accepted as the crowd erupted in celebration. The touching moment was captured on video and quickly spread across social media platforms.

The proposal marked a perfect ending to Aguiar’s remarkable run in the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) tournament, where she demonstrated exceptional skill throughout the group stages before claiming the championship.
