Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has taken to social media to address his recent betting losses and investment strategies. The outspoken Irishman, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and bold predictions, revealed that he placed significant wagers on both Max Holloway and Robert Whittaker to win their respective fights at UFC 308.
Unfortunately for McGregor, both of his picks fell short. Ilia Topuria retained his featherweight title with a third-round TKO victory over Holloway, while Khamzat Chimaev dominated Whittaker, securing a quick submission win in the first round.
Despite these setbacks, McGregor claims to have offset his losses through savvy investments in the stock market. The former two-division champion stated, “I am in the stock market. I am in on Alta, Triller, and the Italian Sea Group. I am only warming up in the stock market.”
McGregor’s foray into the world of finance appears to be a relatively recent development. He admitted to having initial reservations about the stock market but has since shifted his perspective. “I have shifted considerably in the last few years,” he explained.
The fighter-turned-investor shared a success story involving the Italian Sea Group, which built his luxury yacht. McGregor claims he was offered shares at a favorable price just before the company went public on the Italian Stock Exchange. “I doubled my money quick and took it out,” he boasted.

While McGregor’s betting losses on the UFC 308 fights were substantial, he maintains that his overall gambling profits for the year remain positive. He detailed several successful bets, including wagers on international soccer tournaments and other sporting events, claiming a net profit of over $6 million for the year.
However, it’s important to note that gambling carries significant risks, and McGregor himself emphasized the need for responsible betting. “Gambling is for sure risky. Gamble responsibly,” he cautioned his followers.
But his claims about Alta are where it gets interesting – public disclosures for the company do not substantiate McGregor’s claims.

People ask why Whittaker tapped so fast against Chimaev🤨
