Dillon Danis: Nate Diaz turned down a fight against me

Mixed martial arts prospect and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Dillon Danis has made waves in the combat sports world with his recent claims. The controversial athlete asserts that several high-profile stars, including former UFC star Nate Diaz, have declined opportunities to face him in the cage.

Danis, who last competed in a professional boxing match against Logan Paul in October, resulting in a disqualification loss, has been absent from mixed martial arts competition due to a series of knee injuries. His last MMA appearance was in 2019 under the Bellator promotion, where he secured two submission victories in his only outings.

Taking to social media, Danis expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs. “So far, Nate Diaz, Darren Till, Jorge Masvidal, Mike Perry, and Anthony Pettis have all declined MMA [encounters] with me, opting instead for boxing matches or rule sets that put me at a disadvantage,” he stated on his official X account.

The grappling specialist continued, “I’m sick of this; I just want to [compete] and am actively pursuing the best opponents outside the UFC to show the world what I’m capable of.” Danis went on to claim that “Everyone is literally scared to [face] me in MMA — any promoter or promotion can confirm it.”

Danis has been largely absent from the public life besides an occasional jab at Khabib Nurmagomedov manager Ali Abdelaziz.

Danis is still facing legal issues considering Nina Agdal’s lawsuit against him is still ongoing.

Dillon Danis was ordered by Judge Michael A. Hammer to surrender his mobile phone by October 3, 2024, for a court deposition later in the month. The phone is suspected to hold crucial evidence regarding Danis’s alleged sharing of intimate images of Agdal, sparking the lawsuit filed by her and her fiancé, Logan Paul. Danis’s financial strain worsens as his legal team seeks to withdraw, citing unpaid fees. Agdal demands $150,000 per violation, further complicating Danis’s future, both legally and professionally.
