Vitor Belfort claims neither Jake Paul nor Mike Tyson wanted to risk Careers Boxing against him

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort has thrown down the gauntlet, claiming that high-profile personalities Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have shied away from facing him in the ring.

In a recent interview, the Brazilian mixed martial arts legend expressed his frustration at what he perceives as reluctance from both Paul and Tyson to engage in a professional bout with him.

“I’ve made it clear that I’m ready and willing to take on either of them,” Belfort stated. “But it seems they’re not keen on risking their reputations against someone of my caliber and experience.”

Belfort, known for his explosive striking and formidable presence in the octagon, has been seeking opportunities to showcase his skills in the boxing realm. He believes that matchups against Paul or Tyson would generate significant interest and provide a true test of his abilities.

The 46-year-old veteran athlete hasn’t competed professionally since 2021 but maintains that he’s in prime physical condition and eager to prove himself against marquee names in the combat sports world.

“Jake Paul has been selective about his opponents, and I understand that’s part of building a career,” Belfort commented. “But if he wants to be considered a legitimate contender, he needs to face seasoned fighters like myself.”

As for Tyson, Belfort expressed admiration for the boxing legend but suggested that the former heavyweight champion might be hesitant to risk his legacy. “Mike is an icon, and I respect him immensely. However, I believe I present a challenge he’s not prepared to take on at this stage of his career.”

Industry insiders have speculated that potential financial disagreements or scheduling conflicts might be the real reasons behind the lack of progress in arranging these bouts. However, Belfort remains convinced that it’s his fearsome reputation keeping these high-profile matchups at bay.
