Former U.S. President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally. UFC figures Conor McGregor and Dana White were among the first to react to the news, expressing their sentiments on social media and through public statements.
Conor McGregor, who celebrated his 37th birthday on Sunday, condemned the violent act. He emphasized that, given Trump’s status as a 78-year-old billionaire, he should be enjoying a leisurely life rather than facing such dangers. McGregor’s statement highlighted his admiration for Trump’s resilience and dedication to his country, wishing him well and expressing his support.
“A 78-year-old multiple billionaire should be on a yacht touring golf courses,” McGregor wrote. “But he is not. He is in Pennsylvania, spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! Godspeed, Donald! God bless the United States.”

UFC President Dana White, on a flight to Italy for a vacation before his appearance at the Republican National Convention, shared his distress over the incident. White took to Instagram to express his shock and support for Trump, whom he considers a close friend. He described Trump as a tough, resilient individual and expressed his eagerness to stand by him at the upcoming convention.
“I’m on a plane right now flying to Italy, and my phone has been blowing up with text messages about Trump being shot,” White wrote. “I am absolutely sick to my stomach and in complete shock. I still don’t know how bad it is or if he’s okay. But I’m praying President Trump is 100% healthy. He is the toughest, most resilient, American bad ass on this planet. I hope the coward that shot him gets what he deserves.”

White’s statement underlined his personal connection to Trump and his admiration for Trump’s character. He assured his followers of his plans to join Trump on stage at the convention, reaffirming his support and loyalty.
As of now, reports indicate that Trump will not be attending the UFC event with White. Trump confirmed that the bullet “pierced the upper part” of his right ear and expressed condolences for others impacted by the incident. He reassured his supporters that law enforcement ensured his safety.
The UFC community, known for its passionate and outspoken members, has shown strong reactions to the incident, reflecting the broader public’s concern and support for Trump. The responses from McGregor and White illustrate the deep personal connections and respect they hold for the former president, adding to the widespread condemnation of the violent act.
