A British martial artist involved in the “King of the Streets” underground MMA circuit has claimed that organizers have been encouraging him to engage in cannibalism. Bash Fakhouiri, a participant in these “no rules” matches, recounted a horrifying incident where he was offered a financial incentive to bite off his opponent’s ear and swallow it.
Fakhouiri, 43, told podcaster Liam Tuffs that after a previous bout where he bit off his opponent’s ear, the organizers approached him with a tempting proposition. “The next no-rules fight I had, they said ‘If you bite somebody we give you $650. If you swallow it so they can’t have it back we’ll give you another $6,500.'” Fakhouiri expressed his concern that the sport is spiraling towards the use of weapons, telling Dailystar, “It’s getting worse and worse. In the end – it won’t be in my era – there will be tools being used.”
The man revealed that before each match, the organizers search the participants for weapons, but Fakhouiri admitted that he had no qualms about severely injuring his opponent. “They said Bash, you haven’t got anything on you, have you?’ And I said ‘No, I’ve got nothing I…but you know I’m going to do him, don’t you?'” The organizer simply nodded, indicating that anything goes in these brutal contests.
Describing the ear-biting incident that went viral, Fakhouiri said, “We got into a clinch – then I got in close and just got a hold of this whole ear in my teeth. It came off quite easy really, but then as I sucked it was in my mouth, so I spat it out.” Despite his willingness to engage in such extreme violence, Fakhouiri admitted that there were a few things he feared losing, such as his eye, nose, and lips, as he wanted to be able to kiss his child.
This disturbing revelation sheds light on the unregulated world of underground MMA, where the pursuit of sensationalism has led to the extremes.
