(Video) Kayla Harrsion promotes Alex Pereira to Judo Yellow Belt following UFC 303 title defense

Kayla Harrison, a two-time Olympic Judo champion and current UFC bantamweight, has awarded Alex “Poatan” Pereira a yellow belt in Judo. This comes after Pereira’s impressive victory at UFC 303, where he successfully defended his light heavyweight title with a knockout win over Jiri Prochazka.

Pereira’s triumph, achieved through an impressive high kick in the second round, was noteworthy not only for its striking prowess but also for his dedication to grappling training. Despite the conclusion not involving takedowns or submissions, Pereira’s training in Judo under Harrison’s tutelage did not go unnoticed.

Earlier this year, Pereira was promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, showcasing his versatility in the grappling arts. Now, with the addition of a Judo yellow belt, Pereira’s commitment to well-rounded martial arts training is evident.

Kayla Harrison, who has spent a bit of time with Pereira showing him Judo, previously said she would promote him if he uses Judo, “When he throws Jiri with this, I will promote him to yellow belt.”
