(Video) Conor McGregor is in Hitman video game

The popular video game franchise “Hitman” has added a new target to its repertoire: former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. The “Disruptor” DLC, part of the “Hitman World of Assassination” series, now allows players to travel to the Isle of Sgàil and attempt to assassinate the “multi-billionaire MMA fighter.”

The news release from IO Interactive, the game’s developer, states, “Welcome to the Season of The Disruptor! Global Superstar Conor McGregor is joining the World of Assassination, starring as the Disruptor in a brand-new Celebrity Elusive Target. You are tasked with traveling to the Isle of Sgàil to protect Quantum Leap CEO Tim Quinn from a humiliating defeat in the ring at the hands of the Disruptor. This mission will be free to play for everyone through the Free Starter Pack.”

The decision to include McGregor in the game has raised some eyebrows, with many seeing it as a nod to the fighter’s larger-than-life persona and his ability to generate controversy. McGregor, known for his outspoken nature and brash behavior, has often been a polarizing figure in the world of mixed martial arts.

The news of McGregor’s inclusion in the “Hitman” game comes at a time when the fighter’s future in the UFC is uncertain. His scheduled bout against Michael Chandler, originally set for UFC 303 in Las Vegas, has been postponed due to a broken pinky toe suffered by Chandler. This delay has only fueled speculation about McGregor’s next move.

While some may see the “Disruptor” DLC as a rather macabre depiction of the fighter, others may view it as a testament to McGregor’s enduring popularity and his ability to captivate audiences both inside and outside the octagon. Regardless of one’s opinion, the addition of McGregor to the “Hitman” franchise is sure to generate a lot of buzz and interest among gamers and MMA fans alike.
