(Video) Boxing fan puts Khabib on blast over padded record

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has come under fire from a boxing fan, who has blasted the Russian star’s record as “padded” and “suspicious”. The fan took to social media to express his disbelief at the quality of opponents Nurmagomedov has faced throughout his career.

In a scathing critique, the fan pointed out that many of Nurmagomedov’s opponents had subpar records, with several having zero wins and multiple losses. The fan highlighted specific fights, including Nurmagomedov’s professional debut against an opponent with a 0-1 record, and subsequent fights against opponents with records of 0-1, 2-3, and 0-7.

According to the fan, “The math ain’t math”. They questioned how Nurmagomedov could have retired undefeated with a record of 29-0, when so many of his opponents had losing records. The fan felt that this was “suspicious” and implied that Nurmagomedov’s team had carefully selected opponents to pad his record.

The fan singled out specific fights, including one against an opponent with a 28-10 record, which they acknowledged was a tougher opponent. However, they pointed out that even this opponent was not a top-level fighter. The fan’s overall assessment was that Nurmagomedov’s record was artificially inflated and did not reflect his true skill level.

The criticism was shared by Tony Ferguson in one of their exchanges prior to the cancellation of the event, who have been engaged in a war of words for months.

Nurmagomedov retired in 2020 with an MMA record consisting of 29 wins and 0 losses he tied for Most title defenses in Lightweight division UFC history (3).

In a notable development, lightweight contender Islam Makhachev has announced that former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will be in his corner for his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier.
