Logan Alexander Paul was born on April 1, 1995, in Westlake, Ohio. He was born to Pamela Stepnick and Gregory Paul. Logan has English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Jewish, French, and German ancestry.
He grew up in Westlake alongside his younger brother Jake, who is also a popular social media influencer turned boxer. At the age of 10, Logan started creating videos for a YouTube channel called Zoosh.
Logan Paul attended Westlake High School. There, he qualified for the state-level Ohio High School Athletic Association 2013 Division I Wrestling Individual Championships.
Paul’s YouTube channel gained a modest following through Vine while he was still in college. Then he dropped out of college in 2014 to become a full-time social media entertainer.
Paul relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his career and lived in an apartment complex with other Vine stars. His YouTube channel and Vine account played a huge role in his early career.
Paul appeared on ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ in 2015. He also appeared on the Fox TV series ‘Weird Loners’, playing the role of the Paul Twins. In 2016, Paul starred in the YouTube Red movie ‘The Thinning’, alongside Peyton List. Additionally, he was involved in advertising campaigns for Hanes, PepsiCo, and HBO.
In November 2017, Logan Paul released a new single titled ‘No Handlebars.’ The song heavily sampled the song ‘Handlebars’ by the Flobots. Paul’s track received criticism for its perceived sexual objectification of women. The controversy surrounding the song led to its removal from Logan Paul’s YouTube channel.
On December 31, 2017, Paul uploaded a vlog to his YouTube channel. The vlog recorded the deceased corpse of a man who had died by hanging himself in Aokigahara, Japan. The location is known as the ‘suicide forest’ due to its reputation as a suicide site.
Initially planned as part of his ‘Tokyo Adventures’ series, Paul and his group intended to camp in the woods but cancelled their plans after discovering the corpse. Paul faced huge criticism from celebrities, politicians, and members of the YouTube community for his video. Additionally, he was accused of being disrespectful to suicide victims.
Paul removed the video from his YouTube channel in response to the criticism. In January 2018, he issued a formal apology on Twitter.
On February 3, 2018, British YouTuber KSI challenged Paul to a boxing match. It was announced that Logan Paul and his brother Jake would be competing against KSI and his younger brother Deji in two white-collar boxing matches.
The first boxing match between KSI and Paul ended in a majority draw. Two judges scored the match even at 57-57, while a third judge scored 58-57 in favor of KSI.
Logan Paul launched the first episode of his ‘Impaulsive’ podcast in November 2018. Since then, it has become one of the most popular podcasts on YouTube. Paul invites a number of high-profile guests from the combat sports world on his podcast.
On December 6, 2020, it was announced that Paul would face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition bout in February 2021. The match was postponed and took place in June 2021 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The bout between them went the full distance without a winner being announced. Mayweather landed 43 punches out of 107 thrown (40.2%), while Paul landed 28 punches out of 217 thrown (12.9%).
After the bout, Mayweather praised Paul and stated: “He’s better than I thought he was… he’s a tough, rough competitor.”
In April 2021, Paul made his WWE debut as a guest of Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 37. Sami Zayn then invited Paul to watch his bout against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 37 from the stands. After Owens beat Zayn during the event, Paul joined Owens in his celebration before being hit with the ‘stunner’ by Owens.
Later in February 2021, Logan Paul was revealed as The Miz’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 38. The two defeated Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at the event. But after the match, Miz attacked Paul.
In June 2022, Paul signed a multi-event contract with WWE. At the SummerSlam, Paul got his revenge by defeating The Miz. Paul then challenged Roman Reigns on an episode of SmackDown.
The two competed against each other at Crown Jewel on November 5 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Paul was unsuccessful in defeating Reigns, marking his first loss in WWE. However, critics highly praised Paul’s impressive wrestling skills in the match against Reigns.
After the match with Roman Reigns, Jake Paul was initially reported to have suffered torn meniscus, MCL, and ACL. Later it was revealed that he had sprained his meniscus and MCL.
In January 2023, Paul returned from injury at the Royal Rumble match as the 29th entrant. He eliminated Seth Rollins. At Elimination Chamber on February 18, Paul interfered in the match and caused Rollins to lose the United States Championship.
A match between Paul and Rollins was scheduled for WrestleMania 39 on an episode of Raw. On Night 1 of WrestleMania, Paul lost to Rollins. The match also featured a surprise appearance by KSI dressed as a Prime bottle.
After the match, Paul signed a new multi-year contract with WWE. He aims to have more involvement and appearances in WWE and wants to win a WWE championship.
Recently, Logan Paul launched a new beverage brand named ‘Prime Hydration’ with fellow YouTube influencer KSI. The duo introduced the product on January 4, 2022. Additionally, Paul signed a contract with UFC president Dana White, making Prime the official sports drink for the UFC.
Currently, Logan Paul is dating fitness coach Nina Agdal. The two started dating in 2022 and seem to be happy in each other’s company.
Paul has been training alongside Adesanya, Volkanovski and BJJ ace Craig Jones recently.
Paul has undergone a major body transformation so many question if he’s using PEDs. Considering he’s becoming a major thing in the WWE, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising though it would cast a long shadow over his boxing career.
