(Video) Fury FC crowns new champ after a stunning one punch finish

Cameron Smotherman faced Peter Caballero in the main event of Fury FC 74 for the bantamweight championship. Smotherman won the match and the belt with a spectacular knockout finish in the second round.

Smotherman is an energetic youngster who made his debut in 2021. He was coming into the event with seven wins and three losses. His opponent Caballero is a veteran with a record of thirteen wins and five losses before the matchup.

The first round saw Caballero keep Smotherman at a distance using his reach advantage, fighting defensively. The second saw Smotherman in an orthodox stance trying a right front kick, followed up by a right hook feint, and then an explosive left hand.

All of this happened in a few seconds and Caballero was knocked out. Smotherman walked around the ring signaling to the UFC to call him and sign him up.

In the cage interview, Smotherman showed quite a bit of personality and said the following:

“It’s time to call me up and give me that f**king shot to make some money,”

“Let’s go, UFC, I know y’all want me, I am money, I’m must-see TV!”

While Smotherman is a champion who seems to be quite entertaining, some are doubting if the UFC will sign him over the other prospects available. This is due to his low win/loss ratio along with almost half of his wins coming via decision.

Another great finish took place during the ‘Kamara vs Torres’ bout on the same card. Abdul Kamara knocked out Shane Torres with just one punch. Torres was moving toward him and trying for a roundhouse kick. But he got caught by a spectacular right hand from Kamara.

Kamara made went pro around four years ago and this was his Fury FC debut. He now sports a record of six wins and one loss. His opponent Torres made started his pro MMA journey a year before him and he has a 4-3 record in the sport.
