UFC vet Cain Carrizosa arrested after allegedly punching woman, giving her a seizure

A woman was reportedly assaulted twice by UFC alumni Cain Carrizosa. She was hit in the back of the head on one occasion. This caused her to suffer a seizure while speaking to police.

According to a report by Ryan Bittan for ABC4.com, professional mixed martial artist Cain Carrizosa was charged in Washington County with aggravated assault – domestic violence (second-degree felony) and robbery (second-degree felony).

According to the report, the first incident occurred on March 24, 2022, when St. George Police responded to an incident involving Castillo and the victim.

“Upon arrival, police saw the victim “disoriented with scraps on her knees,” which she said were the result of Castillo pushing her. Additionally, she said that Castillo had struck her in the back of the head.

The report continued:

“Police say she was eventually taken to the hospital to be evaluated, however, when talking to law enforcement, the woman fainted and had a seizure. Witnesses reportedly corroborated her claims of being punched in the back of her head.”

“The woman told police that she had been in an argument with Castillo when she left to get her purse, and Castillo followed her. A probable cause affidavit states that while she was retrieving her purse from a vehicle, Castillo shoved her. She then walked away, the affidavit states, when Castillo punched her in the back of her head.”

When reacting to a different altercation Castillo was engaged in on January 1, police subsequently learned that his true name is Carrizosa.

Castillo was arrested and sent to jail in Washington County.

Carrizosa has an 11-5 professional MMA record. He has competed in bouts for promotions including Bellator, Cage Warriors, CFFC, and others, including UFC.

Chris Wade submitted Carrizosa in the first round of their encounter at UFC 177 in 2014. In 2015, he was defeated by Leonardo Mafra in a unanimous decision.

The last professional MMA match that Carrizosa participated in was in January 2022.
