Michael B. Jordan insisted Canelo Alvarez make an acting debut in ‘Creed III’

Famous actor Michael B Jordan wanted Canelo Alvarez to be featured in the new ‘Creed III’ movie. Jordan said he wants Alvarez to highlight Mexican boxing tradition in the upcoming movie.

The Creed 1 and 2 movies haven’t reached the stardom of a cult classic ‘Rocky’. But they still have a sizeable fanbase. They are produced in a way to be the Rocky for a new generation.

Michael B Jordan is the leading star of the movie along with other top actors including as Tessa Thompson, and Jonathan Majors. Unlike the first two movies, legendary actor Sylvester Stallone will not appear in the third sequel.

Creed III is set to release in 2023. Jordan, who is also one of the producers, wantde boxing world champion Canelo Alvarez to make his movie debut in Creed III. The 32-year-old Mexican was a former pound-for-pound champion. He recently took on Gennady Golovkin and bounced back from a loss in September. Michael B Jordan attended the event at T-Mobile Arena and met Alvarez in person before his match with Golovkin.

Canelo Alvarez is confirmed to take part in Creed III. During a press conference to promote his movie, Jordan revealed his desire to hire Alvarez and explained the reason.

“We just looked back, you know, it’s the history of boxing, and the Mexican culture is such a pillar within the sport of boxing and felt like there wasn’t really a lot of representation throughout the films in that type of way.”

“And it just didn’t seem like the reality I lived in. So I wanted to incorporate Mexican culture into this film. I just felt that there was a lack there, that didn’t seem truthful and honest to the sport of boxing. And I wanted to kind of put that character there.” Jordan said.
